Falkirk Sewing Studio is collaborating with Falkirk Delivers, social enterprises, local charities, organisations and local businesses to coincide with the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 31 October – 12 November 2021
As part of Falkirk’s SHOP26 event, we have community created Bags for Life were made from donations received. Our #COP26 Special Bag for Life is made from upcycled donated jeans are available at a special price of £2.50 per bag till 7th November 2021. We will donate £1.50 from the sale of each bag to the charity Outside the Box.
SHOP26 is a local event taking place in Falkirk Town Centre on Saturday 6th November 2021. This is an environmentally conscious market that is bringing in sustainable retailers from all over Falkirk and the surrounding areas. This market is free to attend and will take place between 10 am and 4 pm.
This was also an excellent opportunity to learn to sew, to contribute to Falkirk's initiative to raise awareness about climate change and COP26, upcycle, and reuse. It is also an excellent opportunity to network, build your social contacts with like-minded people and end isolation. The success of this effort means that we will continue the FREE upcycling workshops for the community on Mondays and Saturdays.
Bags produced at the workshops will also be sold at the workshop for £2.50 each at the Green Market and Falkirk Sewing Studio and our online store with 50% of proceeds being donated to the independent support group charity, Outside The Box.
We look forward to your participation in these workshops. Please share the link to support our activities. Facebook
